March 2026 Update
Elections and Democracy . You will probably have seen recent announcements that the planned Norfolk County Council elections have been postponed. This follows a similar delay last year. This was a decision ultimately taken by Government but took into consideration the views of the County Council. I have my own personal very strong opinion on the postponed elections. February 2026 Update
Elections and Democracy . On 18 December the Government wrote to 63 County councils asking their views on a further postponement of the elections due to take place on 7 May. By the time you read this article a decision will have been made on whether the Norfolk County Council elections will go ahead. December 2025 Update
This month I highlight some of the announcements which have been made by South Norfolk Council (SNC). Nominations are now open for the 2026 Broadland and South Norfolk Business Awards . These awards recognise and celebrate the outstanding achievements of local businesses across both districts. November 2025 Update
I must start with expressing sadness at the fire in St John’s Church. Not only is this a place of worship but it provides community space for many groups within Harleston and has been a warm room over the colder months. I would like to convey deep appreciation to the emergency services for their quick response without which the damage would have been much more severe.
