Wortwell Community Centre - Feasibility Study

A Pride in Place award of £5,000 was given to Wortwell Parish Council in partnership with The Wortwell Community Centre Charity to carry out a feasibility study into works to enhanced the Wortwell Core to create a sustainable community facility that will provide a revenue stream to maintain the ongoing costs.

Considerations include: fitting PV panels to the large roof expanse; and installing dual electric car charging points for primary use by residents of Wortwell without off road access. The success of this project will go beyond carbon neutral to providing a positive, renewable contribution of energy supply back to the National Grid.

The enhanced building will offer an ability to increase the number of activities on offer to the community which will address identified issues of loneliness and isolation in an ageing community, and provide activity space for the new residents.
