Many people I have been talking with during canvassing, are fully engaged with helping nature in many aspects. They are already playing their part.
I am working on the 'Nature Recovery in Harleston' programme with Ian Carstairs. This is designed as a bottom up peoples movement avoiding heavy handed bureaucracy. The concept is that every act, however small, can help create a large collective statement. Simple actions such as: cutting holes in fences to let hedgehogs wander during the night; creating wildflower patches; building bug houses; or leaving hedges for birds to nest. Nature Recovery in Harleston has quickly attracted groups, businesses and people who have registered as 'supporting Nature Recovery in Harleston'. This can grow and expand past the boundaries of the parish. The flying birds, the growing flowers and the flowing river do not stop when they reach the parish boundary.
I would like my support to carry the weight of a District Councillor. I will help the local Nature Recovery programme go beyond the parish. The people of our Ward can be the vanguard of Nature Recovery in many towns and villages across the country. Where we lead, others will follow. This can be a true blue 'green' movement. Action not talk. If you wish to help nature then please give me your support and vote conservative.
Most people now recognise the need to help protect our environment. But talk is cheap, action is more difficult. The Local Conservative party are taking action to help the environment: electric charging points; renewable energy; and improved recycling. Act Green - Vote Blue
